Ilja Reijngoud appointed regular guest teacher trombone Jazz

Ilja ReijngoudIlja Reijngoud is appointed regular monthly guest teacher at the Jazz Department of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Ruud van Dijk, director of Jazz Studies: “with Ilja as keystone the Jazzdepartment of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam has definitive a world class trombone department. The team, with among others Bert Boeren, Martijn Sohier and Erik van Lier, posesses the full spectrum for bringing students to the highest level”.

Ilja Reijngoud (1972) is besides Jesse van Ruller and Michiel Borstlap the third European musician to win the Thelonious Monk Award. Ilja studied at the Hilversum Conservatory with Bart van Lier, and performed with top musicians from the Jazz- and Latin scene as John Scofield, Ivan Lins, Pat Metheny, Tom Harrel land many others. In 2009 he received an Edison Award for ‘The Shakespeare Album’.
